Thanks so much for making our little quick trip pleasant! Great house and location, but even better hosts!
We will definitely be staying here again the next time we are in town. Much more than I excepted! Nice quiet secluded area. The microwave popcorn is a nice touch! I hope I get the opportunity to stay again! Awesome house and perfect location! Very clean and plenty of room. Will definitely look to book again on my next visit to Ottawa. Sharon is very warm and thoughtful host and the house is located not far away from the restaurants and university. Would definitely stay there again if I am in the area.
This BNB has all the charm! Lovely Victorian home full of details and warmth. Sharon was such a lovely host and provided us a filling breakfast and afternoon tea and cookies.
We enjoyed it so much we had our other out of town family cancel their room at the local hotel and join us the second night. Robin was very gracious host. We had the bedroom with a queen size water bed which was quite comfortable. Robin and her team were genuinely happy to see us when we arrived - even though we'd been long delayed. We were invited to breakfast the following morning in the communal kitchen where we were able to get to know other travelers.
The Barn, with its fully stocked kitchen, greenhouse and pets was a very rejuvenating place - better than any hotel. We're so glad that we found it! We had a great stay with a feeling of instant friends and community. The grounds are beautiful. Abundance from the garden and other generosity was ample. It is a place in the deep country. That is something we wanted. The college town of Lawrence is 15 miles away and has everything else.
Very welcoming laid back atmosphere. There is Wi-Fi at the barn so you can remain connected, but it is remote enough you can easily disconnect from the world. There was a very warm energy here, and it was wonderful to get away and relax here! This was just what I expected. And way too much reading material to choose from before bed. The communication was quick. I had a great time. Another lovely visit to the Light Center! Robin is a wonderful host and we were most comfortable and felt welcomed and refreshed.
Robin is a very nice lady and a good person. We had a great time listening to her stories and her passion in the field of advocacy and diplomacy is admirable. Unfortunately, we did regime pseudo periodique facteur de qualité inductance have a pleasant stay at her Airbnb. I don't want to say anything against our lovely host, but I wouldn't have stayed there if I had known what it was like.
Hopefully my honest review can help a fellow traveler make an informed decision. The room where we were placed was very musty and had thick cobwebs and spiders in every corner. When we arrived, even though we has been in communication with Robin, she seemed unprepared to host us. She gave a very vague tour and showed us the room we were to sleep in. The top bunk had obviously been slept in and was messy. The bottom bunk was slightly better. She showed us the linen cupboard where we found clean sheets so I guess we were supposed to change the sheets and remake the bed ourselves which seemed very bizarre for a bnb.
It was difficult to sleep in the room, it felt dirty and uncomfortable. Eventually I went out to the car and got my blanket in case of roadside emergencies and slept under it.
Dfw bike rides 2015
I cannot recommend this Airbnb to anyone and in fact would caution against staying here. Our stay was a wonderful experience. Everyone was very warm and welcoming. The barn is so cozy and so interesting inside and out. I would definitely recommend you stay here. There are bunnies, cats, dogs, chickens and plenty of streams nearby.
It was a great Kansas experience! Camp Kidagain is a relaxing retreat. We were in need if a place to sleep 5 adults and a toddler. It was an easy drive to Ottawa where we were doing family activities.
The house had everything we could have needed. Some may say having no Wi-Fi was a bad thing Lots of board games available at the house. We will definitely keep Kidagain in our rotation list.
Katie went above and beyond.
Great place! Owners are very hospitable and will go above and beyond trying to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The house is in a quiet neighborhood. However I can see that being a little different in the summer month, with the lake and state park being right there. But a very nice way to disconnect, and just relax. By doing nothing more then being in the house. As a host, Katie really went above and beyond for me and my coworker.
She arranged for either herself or a neighbor to come and let my dog out during my long days of work. And occasionally would bring us food! Thank you again. The Yurt is big and spacious and great for meditation. Beautiful space. Very hospitable hosts. Now I want to experience the yurt in the winter! Robin was super nice and accommodating.
We got in late and she waited up for us and showed us around once we got in. We hadn't had dinner and we were able to use the kitchen right away to cook our meal.
This place is very communal and open and has such great energy. We ended up staying in the barn and the bed was really comfortable. I wish we had been able to stay longer! This was the perfect getaway for my daughter and myself. We walked dietetique ideale beograd trails, ate smores, painted pictures. If your a hippy at heart, you'll fall in love with this yurt like we did:.
This place was absolutely incredible! The yurt was beautiful and The Light Center was an all around great place. I got to hike around the property in the mornings and have my own personal bon fire at night.
I would, and already have, recommended this place to all of my friends. If you're looking for more than just your average airbnb experience, give this a try. You won't regret it. Robin is a great host who has a wonderful piece of land. We had a great time hiking the trails, staying up with a bon fire, and having a relaxing breakfast on the deck before checking out.
Wonderful place to stay! We were greeted warmly by the hosts and their sweet pup when we arrived. Bedding was provided along with a fan and a portable power pack that we used in the degree heat. We fixed our breakfast in the uniquely decorated barn kitchen, a communal space that we were grateful to have access to.
We will definitely come back if we're in the area again! The description says they provide mats to sleep on but there was actually a very comfy mattress, a good surprise!
The location of the apartment was great! Right off of the square. Check-in was fantastic, it was easy to get into the place with coded check-in. There is a bar that shares the apartment's parking lot. If you stay during the weekend, be expected to be serenaded until the early morning hours!
John was an excellent host.
Very responsive to our communication and willing to work with us before and during our stay. The apartment was wonderfully decorated and perfect for our one night stay.
Great location, easy access to anything you might want to experience in downtown Ottawa. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and plan to return in the future to make use of that bike trail that was literally right out the front door. The apartment is clean and tidy and everything works well. The structure in an older building with charm.
The location is safe and quiet although it may not seem like it at first glance. The Cafe is a must visit!! The location is great and his place was clean and comfortable. This place was great for a quick overnight stay while driving across country. However, when I got there I understand that they are currently redecorating, but there were quite a few cosmetic issues including holes in the walls and a lot of unfinished painting. Very dusty. Very close walk to Mug Shots Coffee which was truly a hidden gem!
The place was amazing! The location was perfect right in the heart of Ottawa. We had everything that we needed in the apartment!
Sharon and Steve have such a beautiful, historical home! I so enjoyed having an inviting and comfy place to stay as I crossed through their town. I had a tasty breakfast with them over great conversation!! Would absolutely stay again!! The host and hostess are very friendly, room was clean and comfortable, we slept well, and breakfast was tasty. Highly recommended. Five stars are not sufficient to describe our stay in this gem of a Victorian home. It is clear how much love and care Sharon and Steve pour into it from the period furnishings and the fabulous modern bathroom to the delicious breakfast and enjoyable conversation.
A beautiful and cozy place to stay, with inviting and helpful hosts. I had such a lovely time that I hope to come back through Ottawa and stay at the Painted Lady again. Sharon was an amazing host! We had a delicious breakfast that we share with other wonderful guests staying at the same time. The place and neighborhood is worth visiting for its great history. She recommended some great places for dining and things to do.
The accommodations were charming and everything we wanted for our romantic weekend getaway. Sharon is a gracious hostess and a wonderful cook, and she honored a special menu request we had. We would love to stay there again.
Sharon is a great host. Very flexible when I needed to add additional rooms onto my stay due unforeseen issue. Healthy, delicious gluten free breakfast and snacks to accommodate my allergy. Great tips on good restaurants and antique shopping. Very prompt with communication.
I was in town for the Prairie Spirit 50 mile race and found this wonderful place to stay a few weeks before my travel date. Sharon was an excellent host! She was so helpful when my American Airlines flight was delayed and made a delicious breakfast each day for me based on my race schedule. The house is a gorgeous Victorian home with everything you need for a comfortable stay.
I was able to soak in a nice warm Epsom bath, have a delicious breakfast and be close to the start line of my race. The Painted Lady is a gem and if you are traveling to Ottawa, be sure to stay there.
The Painted Lady proved to be the perfect jumping off point for our adventures. Sharon and Steve were very welcoming and helped us find a good spot to lock our bikes overnight. We appreciated having access to a shared mini-fridge where we stored some food and froze water bottles to take on our hot summer trail rides.
We had a terrific experience and will recommend it to others.
